LaRenova SA is a roofing contractor with offices in Paarl and Kraaifontein. We work exclusively with FuturSeal products — locally manufactured in Paarl, a brand developed specifically for our harsh climate. FuturSeal’s elastomeric coatings are essentially rubber in a tin — flexible, waterproof and built to withstand the Cape sun, wind and rain. We apply only what we make.
How we got here
LaRenova SA started trading in 2024. Adele Smith handles logistics and administration; Weinand Smith runs the technical side; Helgu JV Rensburg oversees daily project execution.
The setup is unusual on purpose. Our sister company FuturSeal makes the paint, primers and waterproofing products that we apply. So when we tell you the roof will hold, we are not pinning that on a tin off a shelf — we know what is in our paints, because we made it.
We work mostly in the Boland and Cape Winelands — Paarl, Wellington, Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, Klapmuts — and reach into Greater Cape Town from the Kraaifontein office.
From a small block of flats with a leaking flat roof to a large industrial facility — we handle projects of all sizes. What stays constant is our approach: every client gets a personal inspection, an honest recommendation and a team that knows what they are doing.

Adele Smith
Logistics Manager
With more than two decades of experience in business management, administration and logistics, Adele is the driving force behind LaRenova’s day-to-day operations. Six years ago she began working with FuturSeal on product development and quality control — a role that gave her an in-depth knowledge of roofing products from the inside out. She has a sharp eye for colour and is the person who brings clients’ special colour requests to life.
Weinand Smith
Technical Manager
Weinand brings more than twenty years of experience in the building industry — complemented by a remarkably broad background in IT, irrigation, boreholes and electronics. It is precisely this versatility that makes him so valuable: where others see a problem, Weinand sees a solution. He is the technical backbone of LaRenova and the person who answers the difficult questions.
Helgu JV Rensburg
Project Supervisor
Helgu is the youngster of the team — technically minded, eager to learn and enthusiastic. Since joining LaRenova a year ago, he has developed a strong understanding of waterproofing systems and repair work. He oversees daily project execution and ensures that every project is completed to specification.

Leslie is someone who is always looking for “better” — and that is precisely what brought LaRenova into existence. Six years ago he had the opportunity to become a partner in a paint factory. It quickly became clear that his standard was far above that of other manufacturers. Together with a technical product developer, he built the FuturSeal brand from the ground up — using only the finest raw materials, without compromise.
But an outstanding product is only as good as the person applying it. When Leslie went looking for a roofing contractor who would use his products correctly, the standard was once again too high. The solution was simple: build your own. And so LaRenova was born — a roofing contractor that delivers honest, quality workmanship alongside a product that is worth it.
Why FuturSeal matters
We make our own paint and apply it ourselves.
Most roofing contractors buy paint from a wholesaler, brush it on and hope for the best. We work differently. FuturSeal — our sister company — manufactures the coatings we apply, right here in Paarl.
That gives you three advantages you rarely get elsewhere: we know exactly what is in every product and how it will perform on your specific roof. We can adjust the formulation for the job — a weathered tile roof needs something different from a brand new metal roof. And if something is not right, there is no finger-pointing between contractor and manufacturer — we are the same team.
